Czech Center New York presents an author’s evening with Czech writer Martina Formanová, who will present her books published by Tebenas publishing. She will talk about her writing as well as her life with renowned film director Miloš Forman.
Martina Formanová published three audio books at the Tebenas Publishing.
The evening will be introduced by the publisher Jiří Buřič and moderated by actress Barbora Křupková.

Martina Formanová
Formanova was born in Brno, Czech Republic. She holds a degree in screenwriting from Prague’s renown Film Academy (FAMU). Formanova moved to the United States in 1994, and has since written seven books, six of them bestsellers; two screenplays for Czech television and countless articles and commentaries for Czech magazines and newspapers. She is the widow of the late director Milos Forman, and lives between Connecticut and New York with her two sons.

Barbora Křupková
Barbora is a versatile actress born in Zlín, Czech Republic. In 2021, she earned her degree from the prestigious Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU). Barbora’s journey at Theatre Petra Bezruce, where she is currently in her third season, began with her impactful role as Andula in Milos Forman’s Czech classic “Loves of a Blond.”
In 2022, she received a Thalia Awards nomination for her compelling portrayal of Barbora in The Leaning Church by Karin Lednicka. More about Barbora here.
