We are very proud to share the release of a long-term project that is very personal to us, as NU AVE ART is the executive producer — the CD Czech Dream.
This album was recorded by brilliant Czech pianist Matyáš Novák, whom we represent in the USA. We worked on this project (and on bringing this album to life) for over a year. It was recorded in New York at the iconic Skillman Music Studio in March 2024, and we had the privilege of being there with Matyáš from the very beginning.
Czech Dream brings together four compositions — Matyáš’s own transcription of Vltava and his original fantasies on Rusalka, The Bartered Bride, and Czech folk songs.
In December, during Matyáš’s Christmas recital at the Petrof Gallery, we officially celebrated and “christened” the CD. Jana was honored to do so together with the amazing Zuzana Ceralová Petrofová, CEO of Petrof Pianos, whom she greatly admires, and with Matyáš’s most loyal fan and student. We poured a little champagne over it, wishing this “baby” the very best.
The visual world of Czech Dream was created by the extraordinary Peter Sís — another artist we love so much — which added yet another layer of love and meaning to this project.
